I would just like to warn all fellow esl teachers out there that even teaching in a government school is not safe in China.

Foshan Shimen Middle School is supposed to be no1 school in Foshan. Part of the reason I accepted the job with them and overlooked a few small red flags - oops.

The school lied to me from before I arrived saying things like - oh we can't get photos of the accommodation because it's occupied. However assuring me the accommodation on offer is top class with everything you need.

Not quite, I have seen public bathooms in Africa better suited to make a home in.

Long story short, they lied about ev I erything. Working hours, visa, accommodation, pay - everything. 

Now I find myself in a position where I have no option but to leave China pretty much for good. The school refuses to release me from the contract and with their help and guidance I don't have enough money to survive in this country for another 6 months. 

Oh well, life goes on but to all - beware of Foshan Shimen Middle School - n1 school of screwing Forigners.
